Can I polish your knife before returning it you back stabbing AdSence managers?
A step away from the normal posts for a vent of my spleen which has become enflamed this week by Google AdSense managers who by all accounts are conmen, crooks and downright nasty individuals.
"What could they have done to anger you so?" I may hear you call. Well dear reader, as, after a year and a half or hosting advertisements for them, I had reached the £60 target for them to pay-out. and I might have actually received some remuneration for my close to two years of effort with this blog.
But no, they decided to ban my account. "For what reason?" you call out in disgust.
Well for no reason that they could give me, only that they believed I had broken their rules and they want me to provide proof of the activity and to state how I would stop it in the future. My response was to ask what I had done, all I had done was create posts that 1489 people had viewed in 2016. So they closed my account and now refuse to pay-out a penny.
So not only to Google not pay any tax, but they don't pay the people who generate a portion of their income either. And it's not just me, thee are a lot of small sites out there who have had exactly the same thing happen to them over time, they were banned, as they believe, because they are too small to make much of an income to Google and it costs too much time and effort to pay-out the small sums here and there. So its easier to come up with not an excuse (as they don't give one) but a fabricated reason to ban the account.
Through the forum I learned that because I put one post on Facebook telling people about my blog and a link to find it, this broke their rules as there could have been a surge of activity attracted to my blog which may have generated advertising revenue out of character to my blog history.
Well, looking at it I have had no extra views from the post, none of my friends look at it anyway and my wife tends to read them in one go on paper not online, and that day I made no revenue at all from views. It's just an excuse not to pay someone who has worked for two years at this not for money or fame but for an improvement in vocabulary and to learn new skills. The totting up of the advertising money was a pleasant distraction but not the motivating factor that pushed me to continue writing.
Well sadly dear reader, I will be looking for another blogging site to communicate with the greater blogging community because Blogger and the company that provide it is run by crooks and conmen who take delight in stamping down on the small bloggers and refuse to listen to an honest person about getting their account reinstated.
This will be my last posting on Blogger except for a few links to the new site that I find along with a link to where the first novel, written in weekly blog form on this very site, can be found if you want to take the time and read the polished article.
I do hope you all well and give you this one warning. If you feel you want to start a blog or are currently writing, then please do so, it is an amazing hobby and you get a lot of nice people giving feedback. But don't use Blogger if you want to try and earn anything from your endeavours as they will find a way to never pay you for ads they place on your site and then blame you for advertising it on a social network even though their own helpful hints to a successful blog actually tells you to do this.
My spleen has returned back to its former state and I leave you all with the warm greetings and good will this season contains......unless you're a Google or AdSense manager in which case I hope you suffer from the same discomforting pustules that Valentine caused on one of her ex-boyfriends after she cursed him for cheating on her. No one else will know you have them, they will not cause any life endangering qualities but they will be a bugger every time you sit down.
Happy New Year All.
